The Rescue Center and Sanctuary Las Pumas is funded and administrated by the Hagnauer Foundation, which is a non-profit organization that obtains its funds mainly from the visits of tourists to the Sanctuary.
Unfortunately, the economic intake isn’t enough to support all our expenses. That’s why we created a system of sponsorship where YOU can be part of our allies so we can continue with our labor of rescue, rehabilitation and release of wildlife; as well as the development of environmental education.

Some of the items and materials used to take care and raise up our animals are difficult to obtain in Costa Rica or very expensive here. That’s why we have an Amazon Wish List where you can find these things. You can buy them at your country and donate them by sending them or bring them when you come to visit us!
VOLUNTEERING

The Rescue Center and Sanctuary Las Pumas offers its facilities and resources for national and foreign students interested in developing their practices, internships and university community work. We also receive youth and adults interested in volunteering and learning about conservation of the native wildlife in Costa Rica.
If you’re interested in being a Volunteer in our organization, you can download our Program to know the requirements. If, after Reading our Regulation, you’re still interested in participating in the Program, please write us an e-mail at laspumascr@gmail.com and we’ll send you the Inscription Form.
It’s very important that you take in mind that during your Volunteering time you WON’T be in direct contact with our animals. You won’t be able to hold them or take selfies with them!
